To improve our residents’ lives, we employ staff that are interested in finding out what interests our residents and will encourage and actually help them to succeed. We employ staff who are professional and genuinely caring in action towards our residents and show it.
We are not only intolerant of any neglect or the slightest form of abuse of our residents (including ‘institutional abuse’). We are intolerant of any staff’s disinterest in residents’ well-being or not being active in their improvement. Often it is the ‘staff culture’ that dictates what happens to the residents and their morale. The senior staff at our homes are professional and promote good communication, high staff morale and good job satisfaction in close team working. We have to be consistent as a team but each individual team member has something unique to give. In our experience, highly motivated, professional, hard working and happy staff results in happy residents. This means we keep questioning and discussing our aims and actions.
